This weekend Megan, Austin and I participated in the Color Vibe color run in Vallejo, a 5K fun run, where as you can see from the photos above, we got blasted with colored cornstarch as we jogged around the Solano County Fairgrounds. While the race had an official DJ spinning some hot tunes from the likes of LMFAO prior to the beginning of the race, we had our own pre-race dance party warm up inside Megan’s CRV. One of the tunes the infamous DJ Broo selected for our exclusive warm up included a favorite remixed dance track, bringing together one of Megan’s all-time favorite musical muses, Robyn, with one of favorite DJs, Kaskade. Enjoy this oldie but a goodie that has been playing on repeat in my brain all week. Happy Hump Day!
Robyn – Call Your Girlfriend [Kaskade Remix]
More colorful photos from the fun run here.
Lately, I have been obsessed with Kaskade’s 2 hour BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. One of my favorite tracks in the set is Kaskade’s remix of Skylar’s Invisible, a track that was originally released last year and has been remixed by a handful of other great DJs including Fred Falke, John Dahlback and Dirty South. (Skylar also powers the vocals behind Kaskade’s latest single, Room for Happiness.) Enjoy…
Skylar Grey – Invisible (Kaskade Remix)
Leave it to Kaskade to have us covered with a very special yuletide hump day remix. Happy Holidays to all.
Bing Crosby – White Christmas (Kaskade Mix)
It’s officially been one year since I ran the California International Marathon. For 18 weeks, I started every marathon training run with the same song. 59 training runs including across the Golden Gate Bridge, through Central Park and on the beach in Puerta Vallarta and for a few races including the Portland Half, Bay to Breakers, the SF Half and the Morgan Hill Half and of course the big race.
Hearing this song takes me back to all those weeks of training.
A new song by my favorite. An obvious pick for celebrating hump day this week.
KASKADE – EYES
This weekend I ran the 2nd half of the San Francisco Marathon and this song, which I pulled from the Electronic Daisy Carnival album mixed by Kaskade, was probably the highlight of my playlist. I only had the two and a half minute version radio edit on my run but I’ve since discovered this extended version.
Dirty South featuring Rudy – Phazing
My favorite DJ + one of my favorite Swedish electropop artists.
