A couple times a year the French music label Kitsuné Maison releases compilation albums featuring some of the best indie dance tracks and remixes. My starred list on Spotify is usually overflowing with Kitsuné discoveries. Here’s a recent favorite from their latest release, #14: The Absinthe Edition.

RÜFÜS – “This Summer” (JBAG rermix)

I love Spotify and use it regularly during my workday to discover new music. I recently subscribed to a really great playlist created by a random user. The playlist is called Upbeat Indie 2012 volume 3 and it’s an always growing collection of new music discovered by the user (T.J. Yujuico). Here’s a fun and less than year old track from a Swedish electro pop trio I’d never heard of, Niki & The Dove. They’re coming to the Rickshaw Stop in October!

I discovered Penguin Prison off of a last.fm station and quickly took a liking to what few songs they have released. I’ve wanted to see them live for about a year and finally got the opportunity at South by Southwest last week. Over the last few days, I’ve pretty much had this song (which they played in Austin) on repeat:

Penguin Prison – A Funny Thing
