We’re in Sacramento for the California International Marathon (Dave is running). We were at the expo picking up his race stuff and he bought a poster for $5. He gave the woman at the booth a $10 bill and she got all flustered and asked if he had smaller bills. She was clearly running low on change but was able to scrounge up five $1 bills to make his change. As we were walking away I remembered I had two $5 bills so I went back and offered them to her for her 10. She seemed surprised but happy and accepted my offer.
Not a big deal but it made her smile and it might have kept her from habing to turn away other purchasers due to lack of change.
