Oh sweet Jesus. We did it. We earned our finisher ribbons, but just barely. Meagan got passed by a old guy in jean shorts along the way and I almost got beat by a 6 year old. We sort of forgot that Albuquerque is situated at 5,312 feet. Running at 5,312 feet is a bit more difficult than at sea level. Our lungs starting hurting about 0.2K in. Overall we still did okay, we don’t have official times yet but we were each about a minute slower than the Race for the Cure in San Francisco last month, so my time should be a little over 30 and Meagan’s a little over 31.
We’re off to wheeze our way through our last day in New Mexico.
