Fresh on the heels of the public shaming of the crazy woman on the flight from GEG to SFO that basically refused to turn her mobile phone off during takeoff, we have another guilty rule breaker.

On a flight returning to SFO from JFK, a young and annoying girl next to me blatantly ignored two or three requests by the flight attendant over the intercom to turn off all portable electronic devices. This time no one with authority noticed. She played with her phone right through take off until she lost service, at which point she defeatedly put it away. I was so tempted to tell her she needed to turn it off but I hate confrontation, especially with bratty girls I don’t know.

Instead, I will out her and all other future offenders on this blog:

From this day forward I’d like to openly and endlessly volunteer my copy editing services to the San Francisco Chronicle. No, I’m not a trained editor or an educated journalist, but I do know how to spot basic and critical typos in current event stories.

I’ve heard coworkers joke and poke fun at the Chronicle over and over about all the typos they find, but I usually just shrug it off… we all make mistakes, eh? But I couldn’t help but be all but flabbergasted when I read their front page, lead story today on the two Current TV journalists sentenced to prison in North Korea. See visuals below.

Lisa Ling?! Try Laura Ling. Lisa is a journalist, yes (as seen on Oprah, The View, National Geographic Explorer and CNN), but she is not the one in prison in North Korea. She’s in the public eye right now trying to help her sister, but she is not Laura. Ugh. Seriously?

If you’re going to bring your giant black lab on the bus do you think it makes the most sense to sit a) at the back of the empty bus so your dog is out of the way and away from people or b) in the very middle of the bus (at the place the accordian bus connects, where the aisle is especially tight) so no one can get to the back of the bus?
